Windows shows a blue “Windows protected your PC”
box the first time. Click More info, then
Run anyway — this happens because the file is new,
not because anything is wrong with it.
A yellow administrator prompt appears. Click Yes.
Without it, disk health, disk wear, encryption and battery
condition cannot be read at all.
Choose Health check for a laptop already in use, or
New delivery for a machine that just arrived from a
vendor.
Type the sticker code from the machine and your own name, then
press Start check. It takes about 45 seconds.
Answer the short list of things software cannot check —
speaker, screen condition, charger, the serial label. Anything
you skip is recorded as not verified, never as a pass.
Press Save report. The Word and PDF files are written to
a folder beside the program.
It only reads. No setting, file, program or policy on the
machine is changed — not even when it is running as
administrator. It records how the computer is configured, not what
anybody has been doing on it: it does not open your documents, your
browsing history or your saved passwords.
